In a recent case study Italian physicians report on the first successful prophylactic removal of the fallopian tubes using laparoscopy and the LEONARDO^® diode laser from biolitec^®.

 

The removal of both fallopian tubes is currently considered by gynaecologists to be the most effective method to prevent ovarian cancer while maintaining sex hormone production. This treatment is a sensible option, especially for women between the ages of 35 and 40 or if they no longer wish to have children and there is a high risk of cancer. Conventional removal of the fallopian tubes has so far been a complex and by no means uncomplicated procedure.
