Combating myomas with laser medicine

biolitec® presented its new laser method for the conservative removal of myomas to a symposium in Rome in October 2012 and it was met with great approval. Until then, myomas had usually been removed using surgical or radiological procedures. The HOLA® laser procedure removes myomas in a minimally invasive manner and with few side effects. And what's special is: Treatment can be started by the gynecologist at the same time as diagnosis.

A specially designed laser fiber makes it possible to contact-vaporize myomas. The hysteroscopy vaporesection with HOLA® has no effect on the endometrium and also allows treatment of larger myomas.

Myomas are commonly occurring benign tumors of the uterus, which affect approximately every fourth to sixth woman of childbearing age in Europe. Even if myomas do not cause any symptoms in some cases, heavy bleeding, pain, adverse effects on organ functioning and other symptoms can occur.
